Tourism Malaysia Champions Turtle Conservation and Sustainable Tourism at Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson
In a heartwarming display of commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable tourism practices, Tourism Malaysia has taken a giant leap forward in turtle conservation efforts. Embarking on a meaningful journey under its corporate social responsibility, the tourism authority orchestrated a remarkable event at Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson, which saw 24 dedicated staff members from the Package Development Division of Tourism Malaysia engaging in a series of initiatives aimed at raising awareness about turtle conservation and bolstering the survival rate of turtle hatchlings.
At the heart of this endeavour was the release of baby turtles into the ocean, a poignant gesture symbolizing the agency's unwavering dedication to preserving the planet's natural wonders. The event also dovetailed with the ongoing efforts of the Department of Fisheries, whose Turtle Showroom at Port Dickson Ornamental Fish Centre has been at the forefront of safeguarding endangered Green Turtle and Hawkbill Turtle species.
This was followed by a beach clean-up with the Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson team, showcasing Tourism Malaysia’s deep commitment to safeguarding the environment and promoting responsible tourism practices.
